Reviews “Free At Last!” is one of the best books written for survivors dealing with an eating disorder. The hardest thing for me is to be in a relationship because of all the trust that was taken from me. This book allowed me to realize that all the things that I feel, experience and struggle with in relationships are normal. Shari’s experiences with her clients made me feel much more grounded. I did not feel as crazy, overwhelmed and out-of-control, especially in the relationship I have with my therapist.
I recommend this book to anyone who struggles to trust, who uses food as a friend and who feels like there is not another way, because there is another way. Shari’s honest account demonstrated in this book, but mostly in the relationships she has with her clients, is how the healing process begins. She gives the reader a precious gift….HOPE.
